hi , just checking that my army lists are "legal" , here is my 150 pts Ratmen list..

1 x Hero General 15pts
1x General 10 pts
1x Magician 25 pts
2xHordes 14 pts
1xVultures 12 pts
1xArmoured Cars 14 pts
1xRat Guard 11 pts
1x RG Muskets 10 pts
2x Cannons 20 pts
1xBalloons 19 pts

in particular I am wondering if it is ok to take the two cannon batteries along in this size of army ?

Yes, 2 cannon batteries are fine because you have 12 units including command and they represent less than 20% of the units in the army.
